First major block? Probably.

First major writer’s block here, on Medium. No doubt about it. Ok, came back to this paragraph, will change my verdict from “no doubt”, to probably. It doesn’t feel so rough after all.

So:

It’s been turn of the year, now jumping to 2025. And the routine that I kept waking up early in the morning — yes, to write — has slipped. No excuse. But I also know that there is nothing preventing me turning that into some “retro” — slight recap, maybe what truly is important.

Routine is something I find very useful in writing.

It gives some kind of weird confidence to push out content, when you are in the regular programming. I sometimes feel it’s almost mechanical, like your fingers are just tuned in to clacking the keyboard. (This is a mechanical one).

When I was young in my teens, computers kept devouring huge amounts of my free time. Then, once or twice a year, I went on a holiday, almost totally disconnected from the home computer for two or three weeks at a time. I even remember thinking that can I do programming, after returning?

Well yes. The skills don´t vanish in a fortnite. You just gotta take the time and keep doing what you love.

And you know what?

The pauses were good. They are good now as well.

Detaching for a moment gives at least two benefits:

you can aim your attention at other kinds of things. Totally different kind of things…
